And after yesterday, surely each lady knows that this group is a safe place, that none of us are perfect or come from perfect backgrounds...to say the least, that we aren't going to hide it but we are going to let God use it for His kingdom and purpose. We are real. We are His daughters. I pray that each person feels His love working though us in a tangible way. I so enjoyed listening to everyone's heart yesterday. Literally each woman in our group is using what we have been through as children, teens, and growing adults to minister. It really made my heart smile.
He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me- Psalm 18:19
We each talked about how we view God as our "Daddy". And the important role that a daddy holds. Most of us, including myself didn't really or didn't at all grow up with a worldly father figure, or at least not one worth getting a good example from. And a few without very nurturing Mothers either. And it just delights my heart to see how God is using each person to reach out and touch others for His kingdom, despite. Each of us is filled with this crazy love for others. To reach them with Christ's love. To touch, and heal their hearts and minds.
Just some examples of ways that ministry is happening within our group:
- Addoption
- Being that nurturing mommy we never had to our children
- Lifting up our husbands for being such great daddy's to our son's and daughter's
- Friendships
- Community outreaches - Laundry Love, Samaritan Shop
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. - Genesis 50:20
A pretty emotional and deep discussion for our 2nd meeting. But it was so good. God's kingdom grows when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable with one another.
"Never cease to be vulnerable" - Tom Davis @ Idea Camp last weekend
