I so loved our discussion yesterday. We talked about all those little mommy moments....one's that are fun, crazy, breath taking, funny, frustrating, sweet, and just plain make us go "aaaaaw" moments. In our book "A minute for Mommy" the chapter we were on had a list....You know you're a mommy when...
It was so much fun!
So, I decided to make my own. Here are just a few of mine in no particular order whatsoever...
You know you're a mommy when...
- the sweet words "wuv you mommy" melts your heart quicker than summer melts ice cream
- you hear "i hode you mommy?" baha
-your husband reaches a new level of studliness as you watch him be such an amazing daddy to your children.
- you get excited when you are out by yourself and not only get to go to the restroom alone, but you can also use the regular stall as opposed to the large handicap stall "family" stall.
- while shopping alone you realize that you are asking yourself where things are and discussing your grocery list .....with yourself....out loud. that's awesome. But, fortunately you run into several other women doing the same thing, kinda give one another the "you're a mom too" smile and go on
- you are the world's best jungle gym, horsey ride, pillow, train builder, block architect, baby clothes dresser, chocolate milk maker, gourmet chef....etc
- you have the healing power of Jesus in your kisses. "mommy owieeee, need kiss" *kiss* "all better?" "yes, tank you mommy, aw bear."
- you have little encouragers telling you "good job, mommy" after you get done vacuuming, doing dishes, painting, going potty :).....etc
-you see the love of Jesus more and more tangibly each and every day through the simple blessings of your children
- you change into clean clothes to go out. You reach your destination to hang out with some friends or do your grocery shopping and realize there is snot, or chocolate, or whatever else all over your pants or the top of your sleeve on your shirt compliments of good-bye lovies from your sweet kiddos
- you laugh and cry more than you knew you ever could
- you wake up each morning and go to bed every night knowing that through them you are making a difference in the world.
- you never eat a full meal....b/c your children like what's on your plate so much better....even when it's the same thing!
......and the list goes on and on and on. I could type all afternoon. Kids are just awesome.
Psalm 127:3
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
